Radio Contact Stages Covid-Friendly Concert

VERVIERS, Belgium — On March 11, Radio Contact organized a Covid-friendly edition of “Contact on Stage” in Verviers.

Radio Contact has been setting up live concerts in the Contact on Stage series since 2013. Under normal circumstances, Contact on Stage is organized four times per year, as “private” concerts for the audience. The most recent show was the first concert since the 2020 lockdown one year ago. In the week prior to the show, Radio Contact invited the audience to participate in a competition to win two entries for the concert.

The event was staged in Verviers, in front of the Van der Valk hotel, allowing 60 listeners to enjoy the concert from their hotel rooms.

“The stage was built in the hotel’s parking lot, and the audience followed the show from their Covid-safe bubbles,” explained Julie Van Nieuwerburgh, media relations officer for Radio Contact. “We kept the location top secret to avoid (dangerous) amounts of listeners coming to the show.”

The stage was built in front of the Van der Valk hotel.

For this edition of Contact on Stage, Radio Contact invited “100% Belgian” artists and bands like Ykons, Delta, Suarez, Typh Barrow, Kid Noize et Mademoiselle Luna.

The show was presented by Radio Contact host Gaetan Bartosz and will be broadcast via Contact Vision on March 21.
