Nostalgie freshens up for spring

(L-R) Tony Talboom, Ken Siereveld and Fleur Brusselmans host new shows on Nostalgie

Flemish station Nostalgie has introduced three new weekend programs. Former NRJ presenter Ken Siereveld kicks off weekend nights with “Ken you feel it?” — a three-hour show on Saturday and Sunday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. At 28, Ken is the station’s youngest presenter and his show features “pleasure-playback” and party music.

Saturday night sees veteran Nostalgie presenter Tony Talboom, who has been on the station since 2017, host “Let’s Dance” — a collection of Saturday night vibes.

Under the banner “Flirten met Fleur” (Flirting with Fleur), actress and singer Fleur Brusselmans hosts a dating show with a twist: “Expect the unexpected.” The show, which features a weekly guest for a date, includes dating bloopers with love and relationships cooking in the background. The show runs between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Sundays.

The station’s TOP 3000, aired in March, was a huge success and became the main engine for Nostalgie’s new weekend roster. “Both in terms of music as audience interaction, the TOP 3000 was a hit,” commented Jo Nachtergaele, Nostalgie station manager. “With ‘Simply the Best Weekend’ (Saturdays and Sundays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.), we draw from our catalog of songs and stories to bring the best possible radio show. Together with the new weekend radio formats, we want to make Nostalgie’s weekend a sparkling one.”

Nachtergaele added that the recent CIM ratings showed a substantial boost in audience for (digital-only station) Nostalgie+, with a total of 363,000 listeners. “This brings Nostalgie+ in the Top 5 of digital stations in Flanders,” he enthused.

The 8th edition of the Nostalgie Beach festival is set for Aug. 4–5, with artists like Texas, Billy Ocean, Arsenal and Starsailor.
