Continuing to build on a relationship started by its Broadcast Electronics division, transmitter-maker Elenos has delivered two Indium ETG-2000 transmitters to broadcaster Mid-West Family for its southwestern Michigan cluster operation in Benton Harbor, Mich. The transmitters will operate as backups.

Mid-West Family’s Terry Green smiles now that his new Elenos Indium ETG-2000 transmitters have arrived.

Terry Green, Technical Director for Mid-West Family of SW Michigan explained, “We evaluated all the options, and the Elenos ETG-2000 transmitters had the perfect balance of compact footprint, high energy efficiency, robust construction and key features like integrated RDS and HTML5 web control.”

He noted that the decision wasn’t an accident. “We have a number of BE transmitters in our group, use BE’s The Radio Experience for our RDS and metadata management and we even use a Elenos ETG-2000 as a frequency agile portable back up. I like how easy they are to use, that they are frequency agile and have several audio input options, so it was only natural to use them for our latest project.”

According to Elenos, the circuit boards for the Indium ETG-2000 have been surface-treated with a corrosion-resistant substance which should be helpful because Benton Harbor is on the coast of Lake Michigan.

Broadcast Electronics’ Sales Manager Ben Marth personally drove the transmitters from headquarters in Quincy, Ill., to Benton Harbor for the delivery.
