Hot on recently outfitting Stockholm’s Queen Silvia’s Concert Hall at the Lilla Akadamien school, Finland’s speaker maker Genelec returns to Sweden’s capital again, this time at the Berghs School of Communication.

The school is kitting out the public and working areas of the former Gasverket gas plant.

Berghs Facility Manager Bosse Hjerpe said, “We moved to a new building and needed high-quality audio in the open areas. We turned to Scan AV for a solution that was flexible and… networked.”

Settling on Genelec’s Smart IP system, Scan AV’s Dragan Nedeljkovic recounted, “I’ve known Genelec for a while and my experience of working with Smart IP has been excellent, so I wanted to continue to implement this technology.”

A release explained that the school’s previous campus had over 30 Genelec 4020 speakers. Eight of these will be repurposed as auditorium fills at Gasverket with the addition of 24 Genelec 4430 Smart IP loudspeakers.

Nedeljkovic added, “Everything is connected on one, easily accessible PoE+ powered network… [The Berghs’] system includes a variety of AVoIP units, mixing consoles, cameras, projectors, control systems and Dante audio connections, all living on one network that easily integrates with the Smart IP range.”
