Lawo goes HOME for IBC

Lawo, PowerCore, console processing engine

Lawo will give most IBC attendees their first look at its HOME Apps, a “server-based processing” platform. According to the Germany-based company the apps “deliver exceptional processing capabilities with minimal compute power and energy consumption, allowing customers to adapt swiftly to changing requirements and budget conditions.” Announced apps include a multimedia multiviewer, a UDX converter, a video stream transcoder and graphic inserter. Video-oriented formats served include SMPTE ST2110, NDI, SRT and JPEG XS.

Along the same line there are upgrades to the edge SDI/IP conversion and routing hardware. “Lawo addresses bandwidth constraints, streamlining IP pipelines and optimizing workflows. It provides JPEG XS encoding and decoding for high-density compression in remote workflows and for other applications with a tight bandwidth offering,” the company says.

For radio broadcasters Lawo pitches upgrades to its Power Core rackmounted mixing/processing/router (shown) which will “future-proof radio broadcast.”

Lawo says that upgrades include integration with the aforementioned Home Apps along with “support for MADI front ports, and dynamic recognition of DANTE and/or MADI SRC cards, the Power Core ensures a seamless audio experience.”
