BRUSSELS — On June 1, former NGroup COO Kim Beyns became CEO of the company, following in the footsteps of his predecessor Marc Vossen, who is the architect of the NGroup’s success story.

With some 42 years in radio (of which nine years were as head of RTBF’s Bruxelles Capitale channel and 20 as CEO of NGroup), Vossen, decided to terminate his function and appointed Kim Beyns as his successor.

Beyns joined NGroup a decade ago as marketing director to become the company’s COO in 2019. According to the media group, Vossen and Beyns have known each other for many years and carefully prepared the changing of the guard.

The news was announced by advertising company RMB in a video-feed captured in NRJ’s on air studio.

“I want to continue fulfilling my dreams,” said Vossen when asked about his plans. “I’ll take a three-month holiday then go back on stage with a one-man show, hosting inspiring keynotes, presenting a podcast and a radio-program, writing a second book and being with my family.”

For Beyns, team spirit will become a key element in NGroup’s management policy, meeting enthusiastic people on the work floor.

“As for our brands, we want to offer strong media identities, going beyond offering radio content, like the  Nostalgie+ exposition “Idoles,” which opened June 11 at the Brussels Toison D’Or Gallery, where we display the hidden stories behind the idols of the 60’s and 70’s. Things like vintage collector vinyl, golden albums and rare items from artists like The Rolling Stones, Beatles, Salvatore Adamo are on show,” explained Beyns. “In addition, we want  to focus on the further development of DAB+, while continuing to be a CO2 neutral enterprise.”
