Broadcast equipment maker Inovonics has announced an optional onboard FM and HD Radio RF receiver/tuner module for Broadcast Electronics’ new MTX FM transmitter just launched at the NAB New York show.
The main mission of the receiver module is for translator duty.
In addition, the announcement noted, “The module carries the tuner technology from Inovonics’ receiver line: a sensitive SDR-based front end, metering of off-air reception, streaming for multiple remote listeners, extensive alarm options and multilevel password protection. Engineers can check reception from any web-enabled device, whether PC, tablet or smartphone.”
Inovonics President and CEO Ben Barber said, “Rack space is usually in short supply at translator sites. Having the tuner built into the transmitter streamlines the setup and saves space while providing the full-time monitoring and alarm features that keep stations on the air.”
Broadcast Electronics President and CEO Rich Redmond said, “MTX and the Content Gateway capabilities, including our partnership with Inovonics, are at the heart of the Radio First innovation BE delivers to broadcasters.”
