“You can never have too much measurement equipment.”
Those are the translated words of Kronehit’s Chief Technology Officer Martin Holovlasky. Austria-based Kronehit operates 174 FM transmitter sites across the famously mountainous country. Mountains and transmitters do not work well together, as solid rock peaks and plunging valleys (along with unpredictable weather) can play havoc with a radio signal.
WorldCast Systems, parent of Audemat’s collection of test, measurement and monitoring tools, recently posted “Kronehit Ensures Broadcast Excellence in Austria with the Audemat MC6,” a User Story on deployment of Audemat’s MC6 RF test and measurement package.
For Kronehit FM and DAB+ analyzers are both used daily to check signals. Some of the setups are static, constantly measuring troublesome environments, while the MC6’s portability allows Kronehit’s engineers to take a unit out into the wild to put out fires or plug leaks. Pick your analogy.
“The MC6 is designed so that engineers with different levels of RF experience can still carry out accurate, trustworthy measurements, while more advanced specialists are able to explore deeper performance data to fine-tune the signal where necessary,” the user story said.
