The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation has shepherded a three-part series of educational webinars that are designed for “educators to use in their classrooms and for students as they explore careers in the audio industry — specifically related to podcasting and radio,” according to Heather Birks, executive director of the Broadcast Education Association, which was involved in the production of the series.

The series is called “LABF Radio & Podcast Power Sessions.”

The lead on the production was Dave Denes, president of sound library and radio branding specialist Benztown and an LABF board member.

Topics addressed in the webinars run the gamut from programming, syndication and marketing to production of programs and commercials to station ownership and much in between. Those conducting various segments are top U.S. radio professionals such as programming consultant Mike McVay and Emmis CEO Jeff Smulyan.

Denes said of his efforts: “We have high hopes that this session will prove valuable to students and ignite their enthusiasm for the radio and podcasting mediums that hold a special place in our hearts.”
