Broadcast Electronics has announced a new “compact” FM transmitter, the ETX.

BE, owned by the Elenos Group, said, “ETX leverages capabilities from the company’s popular BE STX line and the cost effective Elenos ETG transmitters to deliver world class efficiency, exceptional RF performance, and ability to sharply reduce costs associated with operational expense and maintenance.”

It is available in 600 W, 1 kW, 2 kW, 3 kW and 5 kW power levels. Features include hot-swappable power supplies, onboard digital modulator, RDS encoder, digital stereo generator, micro SD card reader and remote operation.

Broadcast Electronics President and COO Rich Redmond said, “With ETX broadcasters no longer have to tradeoff between high performance and cost-effective solutions for compact FM transmitters.”

He added, “In addition to the low operating costs the ETX can save even more by leveraging simple yet powerful integrated options like multiband audio processing, IP codecs including μMPX and even an off-air rebroadcast receiver adding up to thousands of dollars in savings all with BE’s legendary U.S. based support.”
