Ferncast says a major Australian broadcaster looking to amp up its “in-house DAB+ radio service monitoring and distribution capabilities” has settled on the company’s aixtream software and supporting hardware.

Ferncast didn’t name the broadcaster, but said the project, completed by Ferncast’s ANZ regional partner AVW Group Australia, is part of a broader in-house IPTV network upgrade, catering to hundreds of radio and television services.

AVW Group Australian Business Development Manager Stefan Hunt said, “Navigating the intricacies of DAB+ signal delivery, especially when juxtaposed with traditional FM/AM broadcast services, was challenging. However, the collaboration’s outcome was a testament to the expertise of all parties involved.” He was complimentary on Ferncast’s “ability to provide a bespoke software solution, working closely with AVW, within a constrained delivery timeframe.”

Ferncast CEO Detlef Wiese said, “Based on our long-term relationship with AVW, we are glad to now service the Australian broadcast market with our aixtream solution and we are honored to have received such positive feedback from our valued partners in broadcasting.”

Ferncast describes the aixtream automation and control platform as customizable for each particular project offering routing, playout, trigger-based scripts, automating various system behaviors, workflow efficiency, role management and security for streaming and stored content.
