AEQ will be bringing its latest members of the company’s Venus line of rackmount IP codecs to the upcoming NAB Show.
The Venus 4, for fourth generation, features two models — the Venus 4 basic model and the Venus 4+ with front-panel controls. The rear panel is identical on both.
The Venus 4 codecs handle analog and AES/EBU digital signals with AES67/Dante as an option. Encoding features Opus (12–192 kbps, 6–20 kHz), G.711, G.722, AEQ-LD, MPEG 1-2 and Linear PCM.
Both Venus models are compatible with AEQ’s Control Phoenix computer software for deeper and remote operation. In addition they are compatible with AEQ’s Smart RTP codec connection scheme, RTP Relay connection service and SmarTalk Opus codec download service.
