Ferncast’s aixtream is now a licensed product under the xHE-AAC Trademark Program, confirming its compliance with MPEG standards for the codec. aixtream successfully passed the xHE-AAC codec test service conducted by Fraunhofer IIS, verifying its adherence to all applicable standards.
At the ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium in Kuala Lumpur, Christian Simon, business developer media technologies at Fraunhofer IIS, presented an in-depth session on xHE-AAC, an advanced codec designed to optimize OTT streaming. He outlined how xHE-AAC delivers high audio quality at low bitrates while reducing CDN costs for operators and service providers. The session included a hands-on demonstration of aixtream software.
“Ferncast’s aixtream is a modern solution that is very flexible in its application thanks to its cloud-based approach. Through its industry-leading efficiency, quality and flexibility, xHE-AAC is the perfect audio codec for such solutions,” said Simon.
